“As OSSTF university support staff, I’ve seen firsthand the power of solidarity. Our union gives us a voice, protects our rights, and ensures that the vital work we do to keep campuses running is valued and respected. OSSTF is our strength, our advocate, and our community.”

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF), founded in 1919, is a union that represents educators and educational workers across Ontario, Canada. Originally created as a federation to protect the rights of high school teachers, OSSTF quickly expanded to include not only teachers but also education support staff, early childhood educators, and other educational professionals. OSSTF advocates for its members on issues related to fair wages, working conditions, and the professional rights of education workers.
The union representing Brock University’s support staff is the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF), specifically OSSTF District 35. This unit includes clerical, administrative, library, and other support staff on campus. As part of the collective bargaining process, OSSTF District 35 negotiates on behalf of its members to secure agreements on working conditions, benefits, wages, and job security.
