Academic Coordinators Join OSSTF
Recently, the Academic Coordinators of Brock University voted to certify and rejoin the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) as Unit 2, marking an important milestone in their collective journey toward workplace representation, protections, and a stronger collective voice.
We congratulate the Academic Coordinators on their bravery, determination, and hard work over the past six months as they organized, built solidarity, and worked together to establish their union unit. Their commitment to standing together is a reminder of what can be accomplished through solidarity and collective action.
As Unit 2, the Academic Coordinators will work closely with OSSTF BUSS Unit 1, representing the university’s current support staff, under the leadership of President Brad Sutherland. Together, we look forward to building a strong, collaborative relationship grounded in mutual respect, shared goals, and the belief that workers are stronger when they stand together.
We look forward to supporting Unit 2 as they begin the important work of negotiating their very first collective agreement with the university. This is an exciting new chapter, and we are proud to welcome them as partners in building a stronger and more united OSSTF community.
