Update: Campaign a Success with Heartwarming Donations

We are thrilled to share an update on the Keep It Warm Campaign!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our members and community, we were able to make two large carloads of donations to Start Me Up Niagara’s Mobile Closet, and they were so grateful to receive everything we collected.

It was truly inspiring to see the outpouring of support:

  • Scarves donated by our “Crafternoon” participants, many of whom learned how to crochet specifically to contribute — what a beautiful example of community spirit!
  • Handmade blankets lovingly created and gifted – some by Lesley Owen’s mum and friends!
  • Warm hats, mittens, coats, and even boots — all generous items that will make a real difference for individuals and families facing the cold this winter.
  • Approximately 80 individual winter clothing items
  • 40 + blankets
  • 2 pairs of boots
  • 1 full bankers box of hand/foot warmers
  • Plus, 2 huge bags of baby hats to RMH for the NICU

The thoughtfulness and care behind every donation reminded us that this campaign is about much more than just warm clothing — it’s about kindness, compassion, and community support.

Thank you to everyone who donated, crafted, and helped make this such a meaningful effort.

Together, we truly kept it warm for those in need.
