OSSTF BUSS Union Members Ghislaine, Mary, and Emily proudly presented a generous donation for the Wellness Day raffle, showing OSSTF BUSS’ commitment to local initiatives.

On a sun-soaked day in June, Brock University Support Staff joined their colleagues at Brock University for Wellness Day 2025, a vibrant celebration of mental and physical wellness, connection, and community. The heat may have been a scorcher, but it didn’t slow anyone down — the energy was high, the laughter was constant, and the smiles were even brighter.

This year’s event was made even more special by Brock University’s 60th Anniversary BBQ, where employees enjoyed delicious chicken burgers, kettle chips, and cupcakes. With food that good, how could you go wrong? It was the perfect fuel for a full day of fun, learning, and wellness.

The importance of well-being — both in and out of the workplace — was front and center throughout the day. Taking time to care for mental and physical health builds a stronger, more connected community and helps individuals thrive in all aspects of life. Wellness Day 2025 gave OSSTF members a chance to reset, recharge, and reconnect, something they embraced wholeheartedly.

A wide variety of activities filled the day, with something for everyone: flower arranging workshops, crochet classes, and high-energy pickleball games, to name a few. Some participants explored a local wastewater treatment facility, while others teed off on the golf course or relaxed in pottery class. Whether learning a new skill or sweating it out under the sun, the day was filled with joyful moments and opportunities to bond with colleagues.

One of the biggest highlights was the raffle draw, featuring a stunning FAO Schwarz Ride-On Retro Roadster donated by Wanda Gilmore on behalf of OSSTF, Brock University Support Staff. The eye-catching collectible was a major attraction, helping raise valuable funds for the Brock student scholarship fund. Every ticket purchased meant a chance to win, raise awareness for OSSTF — and more importantly, a chance to support student success.

Wellness Day 2025 proved once again that when people come together in the spirit of health, generosity, and celebration, everyone benefits. From the laughter echoing on the beach volleyball courts to the quiet focus in crafting corners, it was a powerful reminder that wellness is not just a goal — it’s a way of life.
